Install it on the computer that holds your documents. It reads them there, serves them to your own devices, and never sends a document to us.

Windows

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. No administrator rights needed.

  1. Run AnaPlexus-Setup.exe. If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, choose More info, then Run anyway.
  2. Start AnaPlexus from the Start menu, choose your documents folder, and paste your Anthropic API key.

It installs for you only, into your user folder, with Start-menu shortcuts and an uninstaller. Upgrading keeps your settings.

Linux

64-bit (x86_64), glibc 2.28 or newer: Ubuntu 20.04+, Debian 10+, Fedora, RHEL 8+. Runs headless.

--service runs the document store as a systemd service; sudo ./install.sh --system --service installs it for the whole machine.

After installing

  1. On this computer, open AnaPlexus. A setup wizard walks you through everything once: your documents folder, your Anthropic key, your account, letting your phone and other computers in (it checks the network and firewall for you), and optional BillIQ pairing. On a Linux server with no screen, anaplexus setup is the same wizard in the terminal.
  2. On your phone, scan the QR code the wizard shows, trust the certificate once, and bookmark https://<this computer>:8713. The wizard tells you when the phone has reached this computer. Nothing else to set up: no account here, no extra software. (Later: Tools › Other devices.)
  3. Paying bills with BillIQ? In the AnaPlexus web client (the :8713 address above), open Settings › BillIQ, click Create pairing code, and paste the code into BillIQ under Import › From AnaPlexus.
Optional: use it away from home

Only if you want your documents from outside your own network. Put the computer on your private Tailscale network, then on it:

then create an account here and open the console. (On Windows, type anaplexus.exe in “AnaPlexus command prompt” from the Start menu.)

Reading documents uses your own Anthropic API key, billed by Anthropic — about a cent a page. Optional: Tesseract OCR for scans that have no text layer.
